Locale Taco Tuesday

Locale Taco Tuesday: 

For my second blog entry I will be exploring the Locale pub and more specifically the deals that they offer on a Tuesday. The Locale is located at the end of North Street, just off the motorway, and although there is large amounts of traffic noise at the front of the bar, once inside this disappears and can also not be heard from the beer garden at the rear of the property. 

The appeal of visiting the locale on a Tuesday is the taco and frozen margarita discounts that are offered. The frozen margaritas were freshly mixed and very refreshing, this paired with a price tag of only £3 was a large positive for the Locale. There are three different options in regard to the tacos, a battered fish, special beef, and chicken filling. When ordering, the tacos come in sets of 3, costing only £3. To start with I chose to try the beef and chicken tacos, receiving three of each, before ultimately ordering the fish as well. The taste and freshness was excellent, and they acted as easy eating alongside the cocktail.

It must be said however that although I thoroughly enjoyed the food and drink, the process of ordering and being serviced left much to be desired. When placing an order for your phone (the only way to order) bank details for payment had to be re-entered for each individual order, not storing the information, this was a slight inconvenience. In addition to this once an order had been made It took a significant length of time to receive the food and drinks, with a confusion as to what was who’s when it arrived. A period of over 15 minutes elapsed form when we arrived at the bar to having our first drinks. This is perhaps due to new ordering systems in light of covid.

 

 

Overall, I would recommend this to student who simply want some very tasty and cheap food, along with some refreshing drinks. Although the service and waiting times were disappointing, I have been to locale on many occasions prior to this and have not only never had such delays, but it is one of my favourite bars to drink at.
